Central Government Employees: Full office attendance for all Central Government Employees from Monday: Union Minister Jitendra Singh

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said full office attendance would resume for all central government employees from Monday. The decision was made in light of a drop in the number of coronavirus cases, he said on Sunday.

“An inventory of the pandemic situation was made today and in view of a drop in the number of Covid cases as well as a drop in the positivity rate, it has been decided that full presence in the office will resume. from tomorrow and employees at all levels, without any waivers, will perform their duties on a regular basis from February 7, 2022,” said the Secretary of State for Personnel.

He said heads of departments must, however, ensure that employees wear face masks at all times and continue to follow Covid-appropriate behavior.

The Center had, on January 31, extended the work-from-home scheme for 50% of its employees below the level of undersecretary until February 15.

“But after obtaining information from the departments concerned and a review of the situation, a new office memorandum has been issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), advising that all employees at all levels, without any exemption, will report to office from tomorrow i.e. February 7,” Singh said.

There will no longer be a “work from home” option for any employee, he added.

The Ministry of Personnel had, on January 3, issued an order allowing work from home for 50% of employees below the level of undersecretary until January 31 due to a spike in the number of coronavirus cases.
