The head of delegation also asked the minister to give more importance to regional language programs in the AIR

A delegation of Kannada writers requested the Center to appoint officers with knowledge of Kannada to central government offices located in Karnataka.
The delegation headed by Kannada Development Authority Chairman TS Nagabharana met with Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur here and submitted a memorandum to appoint Kannada speaking employees to AIR, Doordarshan, Field Publicity and other offices in Karnataka.
He also asked the minister to give more importance to regional language programs in the AIR.
The delegation also met with Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and asked him to take steps to implement Kannada in Karnataka’s judicial proceedings, especially in the High Court.
The delegation also held a meeting with MPs from Karnataka and asked them to pressure the central government to implement their demands.
