The Elko County Natural Resource Management Advisory Board will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23 at the Nannini Administration Building. The committee will review updates to the Elko County Water Plan and the Elko County Sage-Grouse Plan.

The Elko Convention and Visitors Authority will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24 in the Cedar Room of the Elko Convention Center. The panel will discuss increasing general, marketing and facilities funds totaling over $668,000 to appropriate previously unbudgeted expenses. Also on the agenda are proposals from the University of Nevada School of Medicine for ECVA sponsorship of the 2022 Rural Nevada EMS Conference with up to $5,000 fee reduction/waiver; and the National Rifle Association for ECVA sponsorship of the 2022 Friends of the NRA Banquet with a $1,612.50 fee reduction/waiver.

The Elko City Council meets at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 at Elko City Hall. Board of Directors to Consider Measures on Final Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-23 and Hold a Closed Session to Discuss Labor Negotiations with the Elko Police Officers Association for Nevada Protection of Officers Public Safety Communications Workers of America.

The council will consider amending the city code to make the installation of natural gas infrastructure in new developments optional under certain conditions, and to remove the requirement for telephone lines in new construction due to modern advances in systems. Communication.

The council will discuss the animal control contract with the Elko County Sheriff’s Office; consider an application from Breanna Besendorfer of Spring Creek Sweet Shop to lease the Horse Palace concession; review the annual plan or terminate the Ryan Ranch grazing lease; and consider suspending the H2Go Watersports user agreement at the marina for one year.

The Elko County Recreation Board will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 26 at the Nannini Administration Building. The board may adopt a final budget for fiscal year 1022-23.
